Washington Post: Kushner Tried To Set Up Secret Communications Channel With Russians

May 27, 2017

Had President Kennedy not set up back channels to communicate directly with Khrushchev, few if any of us would likely be alive to have this discussion.

See, for starters, Robert F. Kennedy’s “Thirteen Days”:

Hotline_VHS_coverThe Washington Post released a bombshell story on Friday that alleges that senior White House aide (and presidential son-in-law) Jared Kushner met withSergei Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to Washington to set up a private communications channel with the Kremlin.  The channel reportedly was sought for secret and secure and direct communications with the Russians.  Once again, there is nothing on its face unlawful about either the meeting or the desire for a secure communications line. However, the allegation (if true) would deepen the unease over the associations between the Trump camp and the Russians.  The increasing number of meetings has raised questions over why Trump officials were so solicitous to the Russians — a concern that reached its apex with Trump’s bizarre decision to entertain Kislyak and the Russian Foreign Minister in the Oval Office the day after firing former FBI Director James Comey.

New Jersey Florist Captured on Film Removing Flowers From Graves

May 1, 2017

More interesting as a “Sign Of The Times”. Notwithstanding the bogus government statistics and the corporate media, is the economy really so far in the dumpster that this is the only way she could keep her business afloat?

And what does it say about morality in America? The elites lie, cheat and steal, but almost never are prosecuted, let along find themselves incarcerated. Corporations murder with regularity, pollution and especially the Pharmaceutical Drug Cartel, but rather than real consequences they just give a small part of their profits as a kickback to the government.

lynda-wingateWe have periodically discussed crimes involving grave robbing and how to punish such heinous acts.  The latest such case is out of New Jersey where flowers were being taken from the First Reformed Church Cemetery in Pompton Plains and authorities decided to set up a surveillance camera.  Police say that the camera captured Lynda Wingate, 59, in the act.  She turns out to be a former police dispatcher and the owner of a floral shop.

Is Neil Gorsuch Anti-Duck?

March 22, 2017

JONATHAN TURLEY

Neil_Gorsuch_February_2017Rubber_duckies_So_many_ducksJudge Neil Gorsuch is scheduled to complete the long and grueling questioning of his confirmation hearing today. Indeed, he may finish a bit early.  Like past nominees, Gorsuch declined to discuss cases and said little about his positions on possible cases dealing with subjects like abortion.  Nominees are trained to hit grounders in these hearing and avoid pitches in the corners or trying to put anything over the wall.  He stayed with that strategy and the Democrats have made little progress in undermining his stellar record.  I have two columns out today at USA Today and The Hill newspaper discussing different aspects of the nomination.  I am scheduled to testify at the hearing on Thursday when they call expert witnesses.  There remains one disturbing question, however, that needs to be addressed:  is Judge Gorsuch anti-duck?

FAREWELL NAT HENTOFF

January 9, 2017

JONATHAN TURLEY

hentoff_bioIt is with profound personal sadness that I share the passing of one of the true great commentators of our generation. I have known Nat for decades. I knew him before he knew me. When I started to write as a columnist, Nat recognized a kindred spirit and reached out to me. I was floored to be getting a call from a man who I had so long admired. We kept up the communications on hot button sides. Nat didn’t use email (indeed he continued to use a typewriter). You would just get a call out of the blue with that unique gravely voice on the other end. He would immediately delve into something he read of mine or some idea that he had. I cherished every call. Nat was a mentor and a friend. With his passing goes one of the most authentic and brilliant minds of our generation. Many…

My position on Donald Trump

by Jon Rappoport

December 22, 2016

I’ve written many words about the man and what he’s been doing. To repeat a few of them, his two most important achievements are: he’s contributing, in a major way, to the ongoing destruction of the credibility of big media; and he kept Hillary Clinton out of the White House.

Concerning the media— I am tremendously enthusiastic about what Trump has done. I pop champagne corks on that one. He’s provided a public service for the ages. We would be light years beyond where we are now, if the world of conventional journalism hadn’t sold its soul, its morality, its intelligence, and its hunger for getting to the bottom of things so long ago. In his own improvisations and riffs, Trump has turned the media stars on their heads looking out of their asses. He has been merciless. He…

Is The Donald trumped? Clinton scheming to seize White House through backdoor

December 4, 2016

Next month, Donald J. Trump, with hand on Bible, will be sworn in as the 45th President of the United States. Or will he? The recent talk about recounting votes and ‘faithless electors’ suggests this highly contentious power struggle is far from over.
